Poetry Bio

Daniel Silber-Baker has a national reputation as a published and performance poet, including being awarded best poet in the country at the ACUI National Poetry Slam Championships. Daniel went on to be an original member of the Youth Speaks national, “Brave New Voices Poetry Tour,” as seen on HBO. In 2011 Daniel was the Grand Slam Champion of the Bowery Poetry Club in New York and was a member of the 2011 Urbana Poetry team that won 6th place in the country at the 2011 National Poetry Slam Championships. Daniel’s work has been published in various arenas including in the anthology “Static and Other Lungless Things.” In 2015 Daniel was an artist in residence at UC Santa Barabara and taught a class called “The Poetics of Struggle”.
